Thyroid Package
JPK thyroid packages include pathological, 3D ultrasound and biochemical analysis. This package is for patients with suspected thyroid disease, an enlarged gland, abnormal thyroid reports, or symptoms of an overactive or underactive thyroid.
The thyroid gland produces hormones that manage vital functions of the body. Disorders can range from a goitre, which may need no treatment, to conditions that require careful medical care. At Dr JP Kotla’s Medical Centre, we combine laboratory tests and imaging so the diagnosis is complete.
Biochemical analysis
Blood tests are the foundation of thyroid evaluation. Biochemical analysis helps distinguish hypothyroidism from hyperthyroidism and guides whether further imaging or treatment is required.
Symptoms of an overactive thyroid can include weight loss, goitre, heat sensitivity, trouble sleeping, irregular periods, muscle weakness, tremors and eye irritation. Symptoms of an underactive thyroid can include fatigue, weight gain, forgetfulness and a hoarse voice.
3D ultrasound
3D ultrasound is used to examine the size, structure and nodules of the thyroid gland. It is a safe, painless test and does not involve radiation. Imaging together with blood reports helps the doctor assess nodules, goitre and other structural changes.
This is especially useful when there is a swelling in the neck, a family history of thyroid disease, or when blood tests alone do not explain your symptoms.
Pathological evaluation and specialist care
Where needed, pathological assessment is included so that nodules or unusual findings can be evaluated further. Our endocrinologists take a multi-disciplinary approach, working with nutrition support where required, to carve out a treatment plan that is suitable for you.
